One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey!! ~ Call A Friend

Today I am going to share with you how to Call A Friend, why and when you should use this assist function. This will also explain why you should add more friends.

Add me as a friend at: 132259576 or to share your referral code, you can refer to this previous post of mine: One Piece Bon Bon Journey Add New Friends

You can find Call A Friend at the bottom right side of your game itself, when you are inside the stage.

When you Call A Friend, you can use one of your friend’s skills and for each game, you can use it once only and everyday, you get 1 Free Call which seems to reset at the standard game time each day from what I have noticed (even though it is stated in the help section that you can get the free call a certain number of times each day).

As per below, I have yet to use any so I get to choose any friends and any skills that my friends have. Therefore, this will also mean that the more friends you have, the more choices you have. Also, of course the better bonbons your friends have (usually the higher level your friends are), the better it is for you to make use of.

Call the friend whose skill you want to use.

Confirm that you are calling this friend. You will be using the skill of his Leader Bonbon. For your first call in that stage, you will use up your free call.

At the next stage, you can choose to use Call A Friend again because you have not used it before here.

However, when you have just used it and try to use it consecutively, you can see that you would not be able to call the same friend again until the countdown finishes (once every 24 hours). Also as shown, the free call needs 7 more hours before another free call is given.

Therefore, in this case, if you want to make a call, you will need a transponder snail (den den mushi), which can be bought in the daily store or exchanged for during events. I believe you will be able to use Rainbow Pearls to Call A Friend after that but I have not tried since I think it is a waste of rainbow pearls.

The next day, I went back to the same stage which I used Call A Friend previously and I am able to use Call A Friend again. This shows that Call A Friend limit is set by game and not stage.

You can see the skill effect when you choose that friend so see that the leader bonbon skill actually helps you before using it. Like Luffy below drops self bonbons and attacks so if you need to attack enemies to complete the game, you can use it, but if you actually need Zoro bonbons to complete, this might not be of much use.

What this means is that if you use Call A Friend in stage 100, you would not be able to use it again during the same game but if you lose the game and replay it, you will be able to use it. However, you would not be able to use that same friend’s skill again until the countdown has reset.

When you go into stage 101, you can use Call A Friend but you would not be able to use that same friend in stage 100, until the countdown finishes. You also cannot use the Free Call until that has reset too, so you will only be able to proceed with either transponder snails (if you are holding them) or rainbow pearls (if you have no snails).

As transponder snails and rainbow pearls are not easy to get, so I would suggest that you use Call A Friend at the very last minute/ resort, when you need a push to complete that stage. It will be best if you can choose the correct skill to use so that it will actually help the game, and not waste your free call.

The good thing about using this is that even if your friend is not active, it wouldn’t matter. 😂
