So the highly anticipated game by Niantic which is supposedly similar to Pokemon Go is out.
It’s called Harry Potter Wizards Unite.
Actually, I had no idea it was out. I saw the ad on another game app and as a Harry Potter fan, I had to check it out, without knowing that it was that game, which I heard of previously.
Downloaded the game but I didn’t register because it required me to either login by google or by facebook, which I really didn’t like. However, when I realised that it is that game, I just had to give it a try.
So here I am~ 😂
It’s somewhat similar to Pokemon Go but yet, it’s different. There are more unique elements to it which somehow makes it more difficult to understand the gameplay.
The main gist of it is still the same: Catch them all! 🤣
Since I only started the game yesterday night, I am still mostly trying to figure things out so I am not planning to give a detailed walkthrough.
Go through the tutorial and you should more or less get the idea. When you click into a new place, you need to pay attention to what is being said. Those are the instructions on what you must do.
Overall, it’s similar to Pokemon Go.
Instead of pokeballs, you use energy.
Instead of pokestops to get balls, you go into inns to get food for energy.
Instead of gyms, you go into fortresses to fight.
Instead of eggs, you collect portkeys. However, you don’t get portkeys from inns. You get them randomly on your map.
There are also different items which you can collect on the maps (click on them when you see) so you need to pay attention while walking too. They are tiny.
You need items to make potions, which can be used for catching (traces), healing etc.
You can also collect items for greenhouses. I haven’t played with this yet.
You get to choose a profession when you reach level 6. Choose from either one of 3, Auror, Magizoologist or Professor.
It is said in the game that you can switch your profession but as you need to use scrolls to level up your skills, I would advise you to think before choosing and stick to it because scrolls doesn’t seem that easy to come by and the higher you go, the more scrolls are needed to upgrade.
What I don’t really like about this game is that, it’s not straightforward like Pokemon Go. I still have no idea what I am catching everytime I click on something. There is also no black shadow to tell me, I am missing a certain one. Also, there is no mini map to tell me that something else is nearby.
Although I am just starting this game, I am already kinda bored with it. Not sure how long I will keep playing, but I will still make a post on adding new friends since it is stated that there are social benefits. No idea what those are yet because I have yet to add anyone. 😝
There are also daily and special challenges to complete but the daily ones seem to be repetitive. I got the same ones yesterday and today.
Oh! The graphics and effects are quite good. 😂
If you want to give it a try, go ahead and have fun! Hopefully, you have more fun than I do. 😉
