Do You Ever Shine Japanese Song and Lyrics – Mayday (五月天)
Today I am sharing this Japanese song by a favourite Taiwanese Band of mine. If you are following my blog, you will probably hear more about them in the future because I love them! XD
They are called Mayday which doesn’t mean SOS but rather a literal translation from their Chinese name 五月天 where 五月 means May and 天 means sky. I have no idea why they are not called May Sky but doesn’t Mayday sound so much better? XP
The reason I am sharing this is purely because I need a place to keep the lyrics where I can access anywhere, anytime since I am trying to learn this song by heart and as it is a very fast song, it’s a bit difficult to learn it just by listening. Though that is usually what I do with their songs, this is in Japanese!
Of course I can keep the lyrics in my phone or my email but I want to share good stuff and this song is quite nice, especially the guitar portion! XD

This song is called Do You Ever Shine and it is also the opening song for a Japanese drama “Bitter Blood”. Lyrics are written by Takeshi Kobayashi (小林武史) who is well known for being the producer of Japanese rock band, Mr. Children. As for the music/ melody, it is by Ashin (阿信), the lead singer of Mayday.

First line is the original lyrics.

I bought this album in Tokyo when I went over in June. Imagine how happy I was when I realised the date it was released coincides with my travel dates~ XD
